Jersey Mike's Subs- Assignment 3
I am from a small town in New Jersey, called Wall. Growing up we always ate Jersey Mike's Subs. I played a few sports, so in between games or practices, the parents always used to bring big platters of the subs. Then in middle school, I found out that one of my friend's dads is the owner of all of the Jersey Mike's. As I got older, I finally learned his story. Peter Cancro was a freshman at Point Pleasant Beach High School when he started working at Mike's Submarines. There was talk of selling the store, so after some thinking, Mr. Cancro decided to buy it at the age of 17. About a decade later, Mr. Cancro chose to change the name to Jersey Mike's Subs and franchise the sub shop. Today, there are more than 1,500 Jersey Mike's Subs opened, or on their way to being opened. After visiting many shops around the country, I can say that each shop has been consistent with quality and taste. Additionally, I have noticed that each shop always has the original Point Pleasant Beach mural on the wall. Mr. Cancro strives to make sure that each store lives up to the name.
I am registered in this class because I think that learning the skills to be an entrepreneur are essential to anyone in the business field. I am not sure if I want to start my own business one day, but if I do, I will at least have the basic knowledge necessary to start. I also think that this class helps a person to develop critical thinking skills because at first, an entrepreneur is figuring out how to solve a problem.

Hey Madison, this is an awesome story of the history of Jersey Mike's. I never knew the back story of how it came to be so i found that pretty interesting. I'm from Sarasota, FL and I never knew what the mural in the store was till just now. It just shows that with hard work and effort anything is possible and your dad's friend is a perfect example of this.
